Yes, definitely 3D printing is the future. Already weapons, prosthetics, customized parts, dentures, etc. are every day items now created by 3D printing. You can now buy 3D printers on Amazon at reasonable prices to make very small items.

I also watched a CNC router in operation right here in my little western North Carolina mountains town make bunk bed parts. They were perfectly cut to a tenth of an inch! My Raptor Domes Kits(TM)struts and hubs can easily be cut to the same tenth of an inch accuracy with a CNC router. At one time they were $250,000; however China now has manufactured them as shown here for around $10,000.
